About the Speaker ...
Chris has extensive equine dentistry experience, supported by postgraduate veterinary qualifications in internal medicine and soft tissue surgery. In 2001, he became the first UK vet to also qualify as an equine dental technician (EDT). In 2011, he won the Pet Plan Vet of the Year Award for his contribution to equine dentistry and welfare. His professional roles include chairing the BEVA/BVDA EDT examining committee, serving as BEVA Council representative for equine dentistry, chairing the BEVA Dental Working Party on dentistry policy, and serving as president of the European Veterinary Dental College.
Chris teaches, lectures and examines widely in equine dentistry across the UK and internationally. In 2014, he passed the first European Diploma of Equine Dentistry specialty examination, becoming an officially recognised European Veterinary Specialist and gaining similar recognition from the RCVS.
In 2013, Chris opened Equine Dental Clinic Ltd, dedicated to advanced and referral equine dentistry. A purpose-built clinic followed in 2022, making EDC the world’s largest specialist referral veterinary practice dedicated to equine dentistry.
Chris is committed to advancing equine dentistry, with particular interest in minimally invasive surgery and novel restorative and preservative treatments.
