Equine dentistry power tools are a big investment and we want to see you get the most out of yours. Keeping your tools clean will greatly help in extending their life and efficiency! We’ve put together some tips below for you …
1 Start the motor with the handpiece attached
2 Run at high speed with head pointing down to remove any remaining water
3 Clean the diamond burr by running over a stainless steel brush
4 Continue until the remains of dentine have completely disappeared
5 Clean with a damp, clean cloth and disinfectant and dry thoroughly with a clean, soft cloth
6 Store the burr in its dedicated place within your clean, dry case
Please note: the handpiece is resistant to water projection, however please do not fully immerse in water. Always use clean water without corrosive nor abrasive products.
1 Clean the outside sheath with a damp sponge and dry thoroughly with a clean, soft cloth
2 When finished working, detach the drive shaft from the motor and the handpiece
3 Store the motor in your clean, dry case
Please note: avoid excessive bending of drive shaft
1 Ensure motor is turned off prior to cleaning
2 Clean with a damp sponge and dry thoroughly with a soft, clean cloth
3 Always store the motor in a clean, dry case when not in use
HDE recommends the ideal motor speed to be medium (speed 3)
1 Clean the case using a damp sponge and dry thoroughly with a clean, soft cloth
2 Store in a clean, well ventilated area
Please note: ensure the case is opened from time to time to allow ventilation of your HDE equipment. Please clean and thoroughly dry all pieces of your power equipment prior to storage.
HDE recommends at least 1 annual overhaul and comprehensive service of your power equipment to be carried out an approved service centre … which just so happens to be us!
